Public Expectations

As the nature of public higher education changes, public attitudes and expectations for colleges and universities change as well. Given current financial and social realities, what does the public expect from public higher education, what are the concerns and anxieties, and what are the public’s expectations and priorities?

The Forum has conducted a survey of public opinion in Illinois, in partnership with the University of Illinois' Institute of Government and Public Affairs and the College of Media, to assess views on major issues facing our state and institutions of higher education. Results of the survey, originally presented at the Higher Education Summit in Chicago on June 24, 2008, will be made available on the Illinois Institute of Government and Public Affairs Web site.
