The Illinois P-20 Longitudinal Policy Research Summit
On November 17, 2009, the Forum on the Future of Public Education will organize a summit of policymakers, practitioners, researchers, and other stakeholders to identify critical research questions and provide recommendations for Illinois’ research agenda and data integration efforts. This 1-day meeting will provide the opportunity for educational researchers and policy experts to dialogue on policy questions of special importance to Illinois.
Institutions of higher education will be invited to send faculty scholars, researchers, and analysts to Springfield. Additional participants will include representatives from state agencies, practitioner organizations, foundations, think tanks, and other non-governmental organizations. Featured speakers will include senior leaders from ISBE, ISAC, IBHE, and ICCB. The agenda will engage participants in a dialogue about critical educational policy questions in order to help draft a research agenda for Illinois. Materials distributed prior to the event will brief participants on existing data systems and encourage the compilation of key research questions.
